Oxer Wines Suzzane Rioja
Suzzane takes its name from a song by Leonard Cohen and from a painting called 'Susana y los Viejos' by Tintoretto, a true ode to women, hence the elegance in this wine. It perfectly expresses the characteristics that Garnacha offers us in Rioja soils. It also reflects the respect we have for the old vineyards of the region.
Tasting Notes
Black and red fruit, floral notes, sweet spices together with well-integrated wood, add complexity, together with a pleasantly fresh acidity and a fine-grained tannin structure. On the palate black fruit, sweet spices, violets and a touch of leather. An intense and lively wine.
Grape variety: 100% Garnacha.
Vineyards: 3ha vineyard planted in 1903 in Cárdenas (Rioja Alta) at an altitude of 580 meters. Clay-ferrous soils with just over 10% stone, giving us low yields, around 2,000 kg per ha. The different plots that make up this vineyard give us an extra complexity to the wine.
Vinification: Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in used 500-liter French oak barrels, in padilla clay amphoras and in concrete eggs. It undergoes malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging for 12 months in 3,000L Austrian fudres.
Serving temperature: Serve at 15.0°C.
