Oxer Wines Marko

The Basques have great respect for nature and for the hamlet in which they live, to which they give their name. Marko is the name of the Oxer family farmhouse, which is surrounded by the vineyard used for this wine. Marko was developed to show the potential of the region's grapes when they are picked later than usual, resulting in a Txakoli with a more mature and serious style.

Tasting Notes

Fresh and fruity nose in which green apple, pear, grapefruit and orange blossom predominate. In the mouth you can see the unctuousness of the lees work with a mineral finish of good length.

Grape variety: 55% Hondarribi Zuri Zerratia (Petit Courbu), 40% Hondarribi Zuri (Gros Courbu) & 5% Izkiriota Handia (Gros Manseng).

Vineyards: The vineyards are located in Kortezubi, a small town in Biscay near the coast, famous for its prehistoric caves, a Unesco heritage. Clayey - calcareous vineyard soil.

Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks with its own yeasts. The wine remains 4 months in contact with its lees with periodic bâtonnages that provide great character.

Serving temperature: Serve at 8.0°C.
