Nikolaihof Riesling Federspiel
A Riesling from loessy, loamy and Danube gravel terrain, full-bodied and elegant. In the vineyards of Nikolaihof Wachau no use is made of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, or any other chemical-synthetical treatments. To strengthen the vines and the soil they work with the horn silica- and the horn-manure-preparate. For an optimal nutrient supply of the vines, various grasses, herbs and flowers are grown in our vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow-green, silver reflections. Fine yellow fruit nuances, hints of peach and mango, delicate minerality. Taut, white apple fruit, racy acidity, lemon touch, salty finish, very lively and light on its feet, an animating summer wine.
Grape: Riesling
Ageing: 6 months in a big old oak cask
Best served with: Great with traditional white fare light salads, light starters, fish, and white meats but also a surprisingly good pair with spicy foods like Indian and Thai dishes.
Serving temperature: 12º - 13ºC
