Inama Azienda Agricola Vulcaia Sauvignon del Veneto

Vulcaia and Vulcaia Fumé were the first wines produced in 1991. The idea was to show the potential of the Soave Classico area, not yet with its classic wine, but with a new interpretation of the Sauvignon that, grown for the first time on its volcanic soil, gave a completely new and different version from the French variety.

Sauvignon produced on volcanic soil, on the Monte Foscarino. Vines “domesticated” by the territory, with aromas and notes which are different from the typical varietal notes. The territory, with its characteristics, prevails on the variety and not vice versa.

Tasting Notes

Intense yellow colour. Nose of citrus and apple with a mineral edge. Mineral character on the palate, too, with a refreshing citrus edge.

Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon.

Vinification: Destalking and crushing. Skin contact for 3 hours. After the grapes are pressed, the must is allowed to settle for 12 hours at cold temperature. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation. Fining and bottling without filtration.

Best served with: Rabbit, omelette with asparagus, salads.

Serving temperature: 8° - 10°C.
