Tasting Notes
The estate wines are characterized by the variety of vineyards and are therefore the calling card of this winery. The vines ripen exclusively in the prime locations around Bechtheim and Westhofen. The characteristic variety of the soils and the high maturity give them their special expression. A creation of young vines, planted on the traditional soil of the Bechtheimer terroir. Through strong reduction in yield, these young vines unfold their full power. Accurately developed and matured over several months to provide an extraordinary sensory experience.
The result is innovative, elegant & a very fine wine. 100% Pinot Noir. Compared to the optimal vintage 2018 with its unbelievably high yields, 2019 is clearly below average in this respect. Nationwide, this meant a 13% lower yield. 2019 made it difficult for the winegrowers in many places with frost on the one hand and sunburn, great heat and drought on the other. Despite these difficult conditions, 2019 produced incredibly good wines. The grapes are directly pressed & blended with juice deductions of red wine in 100% stainless steel vats.
