Tasting Notes

With its golden color, Montée de Tonnerre hides a medium-bodied nose, swinging between the subtle balance of generous fruit and the soft woody notes of Burgundy pieces. In the mouth, this wine envelops us completely and leaves long notes of pleasure thanks to its beautiful length. A wine full of finesse.

Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay.

Vineyards: The demarcated area of the Chablis Premiers Crus wines is located on limestone soils from the Upper Jurassic period of Kimmeridgien, very rich in marine fossils and in particular in Exogyra Virgula, a small oyster typical of the Chablisian soils. The Montée de Tonnerre is located on the right bank of the Serein, next to the Grands Crus and enjoys South-West sunshine.

Vinification: Pneumatic pressing and static cold settling. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and aging in 228-liter Burgundy pieces.

Best served with: Montée de Tonnerre is best associated with fish, shellfish, poultry or white meats.

Peak drinking: Our Montée de Tonnerre will be at its peak after 3 to 6 years in the bottle.
