Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

This wine is made with Sangiovese grapes highlighting the balanced and harmonious traits of its habitat. The wine shows a sleek medium body, seamless tannins and a distinctive tasting profile. Great for the ‘now’, it reveals an impressive ageing
potential.

Tasting Notes

The wine shows garnet red hues, intense aromas of fresh, red berry fruit, such as cherry, pomegranate, sweet spices and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine is well balanced, with generous pulp, seamless tannins and an endless finish.

2016 Vintage

The balanced weather conditions of this vintage, characterised by the right amount of all the elements, enabled to make powerful, yet elegant wines. A mild and relatively dry winter was overthrown by a cold and wet spring. Summer was warm and
sunny which compensated for the wet and cold spring. A cold September with Nordic winds allowed for the grapes to reach perfect maturity.

Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese.

Harvest: The grapes for the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2016 were picked from September 13th to October 4th.

Vinification: The fermentation was spontaneous. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration on the skins lasted up to 30 days, depending on the individual lots.

Ageing: 18 months mainly in large Slavonian oak casks (called botti) and oak barriques (225 ltr and 500 ltr).
