Tasting Notes

The Rosso di Montepulciano 2018 has a ruby red colour highlighted by purple reflections. In the nose, it opens with caresses of strawberry, raspberry and black currant that dance together with aromas of sweet spices such as cinnamon. On the palate, it is pleasant and fresh, supported by a good acidity. Ready to drink, it has a light and soft tannic structure accompanied by generous aftertaste notes typical of Sangiovese.

2018 Vintage

This great year was reflected in abundant and healthy bunches filling the organic vineyards. A warm spring set the scene for what proved to be an exciting vintage. The grapes benefited from a mild summer with occasional showers, allowing them to reach perfect ripeness.

Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese.

Harvest: Grapes were picked between the end of August and the end of September.

Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation with the use of indigenous yeast and maceration on the skins lasted 15 days, depending on the individual lots. Malolactic fermentation took place in large, Slavonian oak casks.

Ageing: 6 months mainly in large oak casks (botti) and a minimum of 3 months in the bottle.
