The Saumagen lies in the middle of a unique limestone basin and is one of the most important “Grand Cru” locations in the Palatinate. Limestone dominates the valley basin, which, in combination with an exceptional microclimate, ensures the cult status of this location.
Hand-picked from highly ripe and healthy grapes with a maceration time of 4 hours. Gentle pressing under low pressure, followed by controlled fermentation in steel tanks and wooden barrels without external intervention.
Mineral and fruity with notes of citrus fruit, peach, apple and apricot. The ageing in wooden barrels also gives it spicy and complex notes of vanilla and brioche.
A deliciously fruity and pleasant wine. It strikes a perfect balance between power and elegance, revealing the best of both and allowing mineral notes to fade into a long finish in perfect harmony. Certified vegan.

Markus Schneider from Ellerstadt in the Palatinate region is today one of the most famous winegrowers in Germany. Less than 25 years ago, his father delivered the little bit of red and white wine he had to the cooperative society. Today, almost 100 hectares of vineyards are turned into red, white, rosé and sparkling wine in the Markus Schneider winery.
