Nikolaihof Elisabeth Tradition 2017

A „Gemischter Satz“ from Riesling, Auxerrois, Grüner Veltliner, Neuburger and other grape varieties (7 in total). The vines grow side by side in an old vineyard, are harvested and pressed together and stored for 1 ½ years in a large oak cask. In the vineyards of Nikolaihof Wachau no use is made of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, or any other chemical-synthetical treatments. To strengthen the vines and the soil they work with the horn silica- and the horn-manure-preparate. For an optimal nutrient supply of the vines, various grasses, herbs and flowers are grown in their vineyards.

Tasting Notes 

Complex, fragrant aroma of the wine reveals notes of citrus, yellow, pineapple and grasses, supplemented with mineral and spicy nuances. The wine shows a lively, powerful palate with good acidity, delicious texture and long finish.

Grape: Gemischter Satz (7 grape varieties)

Ageing: 1 ½ years in a big, old oak cask.

Best served with: Pork, Rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), Shellfish, Spicy food, Sweet desserts, Vegetarian, Poultry, Lean fish, Mild and soft cheese, Goat cheese.

Serving temperature: 10ºC - 12ºC.
