Tasting Notes
This barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc is not your average Sauvignon Blanc, it’s grassy-spicy with aromas of linden and chamomile flowers, a little bit of lemon balm and finely dosed toasted spice. Very animating on the nose with a medium intensity with poppy seed pastry, mocha and creamy overripe tropical fruit. The palate mirrors the nose with nice creaminess as well as medium intensity. In addition there’s some overripe gooseberry, nice alcoholic heat and a coffee aftertaste. This is a very unusual Sauvignon where almost no classic characteristics are present! This is an extremely innovative wine with lots of potential!
Rather cautious on the nose, there are subdued aromas of green bell pepper and lime, a little clove and grapefruit peel. On the palate, a beguiling fullness of aromas, complex and of great depth: caramelized green peppers and citrus fruits, sweet herbs and spices, with candied lemon at the end. Smooth, fresh with excellent balance and length.
Drinking temperature: approx. 8 - 10°C.
