Matsui The Kurayoshi 12 Year Old Pure Malt
Kurayoshi the foothills of Mt. Daisen, has a fine water that is indispensable for whisky distilling. Kurayoshi, where "Life is good" is the origin of the word. Kurayoshi's water is soft and it has a condensed taste. By delivering whisky distilled with Kurayoshi's water, this distillery bring to the world the taste that consumers desire, keeping in mind a philosophy of "Whisky to be loved by everyone".
Fine quality water is essential for whisky making, but the process of barrel ageing is an equally important procedure. This beautiful whisky is distilled in Mizunara (Japanese Oak) and Sakura (Cherry wood) barrels.
Tasting Notes
The aroma of nuts and almonds is followed by a rich malt flavour. Hints of vanilla and raisins, with a faint smoky flavour. This vintage has the perfect balance between sweetness, bitterness and acidity.
