Fritz Waßmer Sommerhalde Bombach Spätburgunder

From the single vineyard closer to the Black Forest, a cooler mesoclimate delivering a lighter and more elegant wine. Smells fabulous with aromas of cherry and red berry fruit, blackberry, spice, smoke, earth and a touch of well framed oak. Very fresh on the palate with nice minerality and vibrant acidity. Enough tannic structure to age for another decade at least. Excellent balance of body & flavour intensity. This wine possesses intriguing complexity and a long finish. Charming and floral but also racy and focused.

Tasting Notes

In the bouquet, voluminous, dark fruits such as blueberries and plums, but also raspberries and anise, paired with some black pepper and cloves. Depth and warmth. On the palate with bright, fresh red fruits: cranberries and red cherries. The tannins are soft, soothing and lively, they offer a handle without astringency. Elegant and quite intense. The finish is long and peppery. This is a youthful wine with a lot of time ahead of it - but already irresistibly delicious.

Serving temperature: approx. 16° - 18°C.
